Letter from the Editor – Week of September 10, 2012
Hello Everyone,
I hope you all had a great weekend.
I would like to start by giving you all an update about the Free Matter mailing issue that I brought up in last week’s magazine. I am happy to report that the recipient’s Post Office is waiving all fees and she will not be charged anything for this misunderstanding regarding the packaging restrictions. I imagine that incidents like these are unfortunately not rare, as the regulations are muddled and disconnected regarding any restrictions. The more attention we bring to this matter, the more likely the US Postal Service will be to clarify what can and cannot be used in Free Matter mailing situations.
On another note, I will receive final word on Wednesday from the New York Giants to see if Romeo and I are approved for press credentials to this Sunday’s game. I am planning on running another live blog of the game from the press box as we did last year. When I get the confirmation from their PR office, I will send out another notice to all of you with the necessary details and how to follow along.
This week also marks 11 years since the September 11th attacks. It doesn’t feel that long ago, and it’s amazing what has happened to our country and the world in that short period of time. Tomorrow will mean many things to many different people, whether they were directly affected by the attacks or not. But regardless of how it will affect you, the one thing that I hope we all have in common is that we want to continue to move forward–not forgetting what has happened, but working to build a better world together. That is the most important thing that we all must share.
That should cover everything for now. I hope you all have a great week.
Take care, and as always, thanks for reading.
Sincerely,
Ross Hammond
