End of the Third Quarter

Romeo just leaned over and said, “Well, now you have to start to wonder if the Giants took this team for granted or if they’re better than everyone gave them credit for to begin with. It looks like the Giants are going to have to pull out yet another fourth quarter comeback.”

Start of the fourth quarter

After a 3rd down sack, Seattle attempts a 51 yard field goal–and it’s good!

The score is now Seattle-19, New York-14

While the Giants were able to move 25 yards down the field, an incomplete pass that was almost intercepted brought them to fourth down and they punted the ball away. Seattle starts on their own 34 yard line.

After receiving the kick after their safety, Seattle goes three and out after a sack and punts it away. Giants start with the ball on their 5 yard line again.

Fun fact: There are 78,650 people in attendance today.

With the Giants taking the snap in the endzone, the Seahawks came through and tackled DJ Ware in the endzone for a safety, the first points to be put on the board in nearly 20 minutes of game play.

Officials reviewed the score, and found that the runner never left the endzone. That call stands, and the score is now Seattle-16, New York-14.

Seattle punts again. Giants are pinned back at their five yard line.

This second half has been nothing more than a game of catch between punters and receivers.

Another three and out by the Giants. Seattle takes over at their own 29 yard line. So far, both teams can’t put much together on offense.

The second half started with a failed drive and a punt by the Giants, followed by the same from Seattle. Giants take over the ball at their own 30.

End of the First Half.

According to Romeo, “Play has simply been too sloppy–on both sides. The Giants aren’t playing up to their potential and, quite frankly, they’re fonrtunate to be tied right now. Last week they were lucky to come back from behind in the 4th quarter, but they can’t keep living on the edge and coming back from a scoring deficit. They need to come out strong in the second half.”

I couldn’t agree more with Romeo. The first half was a slew of turnovers and posession changes. Neither team looks particularly dominant right now, so they each need to come up with a new game plan and shock their opponent when the second half starts.

The Giants will be receiving the ball to start the second half, so the focus will be on their offense and how they can string together plays without turning the ball over.

Giants are now in the Redzone with 16 seconds left to go after a completed pass to Nicks.

Manning and Nicks team up again for a 19 yard touchdown pass. Extra point is good. The score is now tied 14 to 14.

New York should be feeling pretty good going into the locker room at the half.

As Romeo just said, “Finally!”

After three failed attempts by the Giants, Seahawks quarterback, Jackson, threw an interception and the Giants take over on their 41 yard line with 51 seconds left to go.
