The American Council of the Blind (ACB) is seeking to hire a Managing Director for ACB Radio, an internet radio station operated by ACB. The successful candidate will be responsible for the oversight and daily operation of all facets of ACB Radio, and for moderating the internet mailing lists associated with it. He or she will report directly to the ACB Executive Director, but will receive input from the ACB President or his/her designee and the Chairperson of the Board of Publications. But the government sends printed letters to them anyway — letters with vital, life-changing information about benefits from the Social Security Administration. This week, Mary Ann Alexander, president of the Monroe County Council of the Blind, testified in federal court in San Francisco, part of a national class-action lawsuit.
